Payment of p-ticket

A parking ticket is a penalty charge notice. The penalty charge notice amounts to DKK 510.

To ensure that your payment is registered as soon as possible, we recommend that you use the original giro form.

If you wish to pay by cheque or another form of payment, you must reference the car registration number and/or the serial number of the giro form. Please note that payments to the Parking Department’s account will be registered as “Teknik- og Miljøforvaltningen”.
If the p-ticket is paid by home banking, you must use the entire code line on the bottom of the giro form (this line forms the serial number / payment identification of the specific fee, for instance: 71 <insert the fee’s serial number>+80901119<).
If the fee is paid by regular bank transfer, please use: reg. no 3100, account no. 80901119. 
Please remember to reference the p-ticket serial number and/or the car registration number.
If you have lost the original giro form, you can use the code: >01<, account no. 7790201. Please complete the field “meddelelser vedr. betalingen” (information regarding the payment) with the p-ticket serial number and/or the car’s registration number.

Payment from abroad
If you have received a parking ticket and wish to pay from a foreign account, you can transfer the amount to:

Please note that payments to the Parking Department’s account will be registered as “Teknik- og Miljøforvaltningen”.

If you wish to pay by cheque, you can send a cheque to the Parking Department by post. You can see the postal address in contact details in the right hand menu.

Please remember to reference the parking ticket serial number and/or the car registration number on the cheque.

The Parking Department collaborates with the debt-collection agencies Park Trade and Euro Credit.


Arrangement of payment by instalment
If you wish to make arrangements for payment by instalments, please contact: SKAT.(The Copenhagen tax authorities)

If the car does not belong to you, you must provide the car owner/user’s date of birth because the offices are arranged by civil registration numbers.

You cannot make an arrangement to pay the Parking Department directly, since the “opkrævningsafdeling” makes arrangements for all of the city.

Students, apprentices, social security recipients, pensioners, and others
There are no reductions of penalty charges for parking tickets for students, apprentices, social security recipients or pensioners because it is a penalty charge notice and not a fine.

Influence and ways of complaint
If you have received a parking ticket and wish to complain or appeal, you can contact us via post or by using our online form.

Please note that appeals against parking tickets are decided based on an assessment of whether the parking rules have been violated. The fact that the driver parked the vehicle in good faith will not result in the fee being withdrawn.

Q: I have received a penalty charge notice for not using a p-ticket. Can the penalty charge notice be cancelled if I submit a valid p-ticket?
A: No, the penalty charge notice is based on the decision made at the time of the vehicle patrol.

Q: Can I receive a penalty charge notice even though someone is sitting in the car?
A: Yes, the parking and stopping ban applies to vehicles with and without a driver.

Q: I have received a reminder from the Copenhagen tax authorities. To whom shall I apply?
A: if you have received a reminder including a charge of DKK 250 from the Copenhagen tax authorities, all applications relating to the charge must be made to SKAT.

Q: Why have I received a reminder for a penalty charge notice which I have already paid?
A1: You may have paid a penalty charge notice for the same amount to the National Commission of the Danish Police, another municipality or a private parking company.
A2: The reminder may have been for another penalty charge notice.
A3: The reminder and your payment may have crossed in the mail.
A4: You may have paid a penalty charge notice for another person’s vehicle.
A5: We may not have received the payment.
